Hi all! I have a few pieces of news! First of all…
My funny, spicy, sweet romance novel Her Knight at the Museum is $1.99 on Kindle for the next few days, if you want to scoop it up!
If you haven’t checked it out yet, now is the time! Let me know if you do!
Here are a few other things that are going on…
I taught my workshop on Irresistible Query Letters & Pitches in Atlanta!
I unfortunately had a big distraction at the conference, which I won’t get into. (I also have a lot going on today, so please send good vibes.)
But I was happy to get the chance to teach this. So many people told me they enjoyed it. One person said, “I wish I’d had this five years ago!” I am thinking about teaching it virtually or making it a YouTube video. Please let me know if you would be interested!
Speaking of YouTube and social media…
Yesterday Facebook removed my little private reader group and froze me out from posting on my author page (although…my Instagram posts still show up on my author page, and I can still comment.)
Apparently, the problem is that I set up Facebook page with an email that is now defunct. It’s frustrating, because authors put a lot of work into their social media. And Facebook deleted a previous author page of mine—I have no idea why! Obviously, I keep things appropriate and positive.
Meanwhile, TikTok is likely going to change a lot, and I think it’s a great time to reboot my YouTube channel. So I’ll be doing that in October!
In other YouTube news, I made a comment on a video last night (Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue), and I woke up to find it had thousands of likes and responses! Has anything like this ever happened to you?
Finally, a friendly reminder that WIP Wednesday is tomorrow, for those who like to participate!
I always think a heads up is helpful when the first Wednesday of the month is also the first day of the month. We’d love to see what you’re writing! WIP Wednesday is a great opportunity to share a little of what you’re working on in a friendly space.
How’s everything going with you?
Are you as excited as I am that it’s fall! (It’s still warm in the afternoons, but here in Chicago, the chilly weather is inevitable!) I hope you have a great rest of your week!
I’d love to hear your talk on querying, either as a class or a YouTube video! And I’m looking forward to reading Her Knight—omw to buy it now. 🙂 Love you and your positivity
I was happy to read about your YouTube reboot. I’ve decided to end my TikTok account over several concerns. I’ll be watching your YouTube reboot to give me ideas about trebly my own.
Hi Jill! Yeah, regarding TikTok, I get it! I do feel like YouTube is a little more stable. 🙂
Hi Kel! Okay, I will take a look at doing that query letter class soon! Thank you so much for getting Her Knight at the Museum. I hope you enjoy it!
Woo! It’s finally fall (temperature-wise) here, and I’m very excited about it lol! 🍁 Sending all the positive vibes your way—I hope that whatever you’re dealing with is just a minor bump in the road (and maybe research for a future WIP—that’s how I try to silver-line things). Consider me definitely interested in your query letter workshop; please let me know if you decide to do it. (I’d probably invite my critique group, too.) Happy WIP Wednesday Eve, Bryn! 🤓
P.S. To anyone thinking about getting Bryn’s book, it’s a super cute, fun read.
Thank you so much for the good wishes, Isla! Today went pretty well! I think I will do the virtual version of the query workshop! Happy WIP Wednesday Eve! 🙂 (And thank you for recommending my book! 🙂 )
That WIP I shared last month–I submitted the story.
Ahh, that’s awesome! Fingers crossed!
Thanks!
